Human Resources Administrative Assistant Part-Time

Empire State Bank is currently looking for a Part-Time Human Resources
Administrative Assistant. As the Human Resources Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for all administrative tasks pertaining to the Human Resources function.
This is an hourly, non-exempt part-time position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain all Human Resources and employee personnel files
- Open, review and distribute Human Resources mail
- Actively participate in recruiting including screening applicants and scheduling interviews
- Schedule candidate testing and background verification
- Prepare new hire packets and materials
- Welcome new employees to the organization by conducting orientation and collecting all paperwork and tax information
- Maintain employee information by entering and updating employment and status- change data
- Collect, verify and record all requests for time off ensuring all requests are received in a timely manner for payroll processing
- Have some knowledge of payroll processing; will train as backup
- Provide administrative support by entering, formatting, and printing information; typing correspondence; organizing work; answering the telephone; relaying messages; maintaining equipment and supplies
- Plan and schedule meetings; conduct research; organize and maintain both paper and electronic files; may include handling travel arrangements
- Assist in organizational training and development efforts; participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars
- Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping Human
Resources information confidential
- Process and verifies all paperwork pertaining to employee transfers, change in job classifications, and annual (work anniversary) increases
- Assist in the preparation of the annual EEO-1 report and other required filings
- Perform other duties as directed by the Human Resources Administrator
Qualifications and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Human Resources Administrative Assistant or HR Generalist
Working Environment
Duties are performed in an office environment but may require traveling to different branches/ locations for fill-in, meetings and/or seminars as needed. A Human Resources
Administrative Assistant routinely uses standard office equipment which includes, but is not limited to, computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
A Human Resources Administrative Assistant is required to have manual dexterity; the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. This position requires sitting, standing, bending and stooping as necessary.
