What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerical Assistant position at Employnet?
The Clerical Assistant will report directly to the Sr. AOA and will provide support for 2 supervisors during their shift. Typically, the Clerical Assistant will work an 8-hour shift, at least 3 days per week, between 8:00 and 4:30. This is a basic data entry position. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Reporting to work in a timely manner, ready to work
- Basic data entry from a variety of logs and forms, onto Word and Excel spreadsheets and onto a web-based work order system.
- Making copies of forms so that they are readily available to staff when needed.
- Filing paid invoices, receipts time slips, etc.
- Checking the mail- incoming and outgoing.
- Welcome visitors, accept deliveries when needed, sign for uniforms (not often, only if other staff are not available)
- Typing lists, logs, agendas, forms as needed. (not often)
- Picking up deliveries from adjacent building on occasion
- Very rarely may be asked to answer phones, but may only get 1-2 calls.
Work environment is at an off-site City facility near downtown, in a building with other administrative staff, and a field crew who reports early morning, leaves during the day, and then returns in the afternoon. Climate controlled office, with computer and office equipment. Hours per week 24-32 hrs/wk 3-4 days/wk
Candidate should be familiar with Word and Excel, but doesn’t have to be an expert. The ability to input data for the majority of the day and sit for long periods of time is essential. The position requires little supervision, as most duties are the same each day. There may be a need for assistance with other things, but nothing that requires master or advanced skills, heavy lifting or working outside.
High School Diploma or GED required.
One year clerical experience required.
Background check and drug screen will be required.
