The Advisory & Planning Consultant will strive to provide financial wellness and retirement solutions during all phases of a participant’s life. This team works with the employees of Empower's largest clients. Delivers personalized consultations detailing solutions best suited to the retirement planning needs of Empower Retirement clients. Provides guidance, advice, professional account management (MyTotalRetirement), financial wellness, and financial planning support. It encompasses all services that support first dollar in to last dollar out solutions for participants – including distributions into or out of plans, saving, investing, consolidating and investing in additional products or services based on the participant’s needs. Will be held accountable for meeting monthly and annual sales goals.
What you will do
Leverage Empower’s CONSULT model to identify participant needs and help navigate them to appropriate next steps
Provide financial wellness and planning to a target group of Empower customers
Participates in, on average, 30 phone calls per day
Obtain knowledge of the participant’s financial portfolio objectives, asset composition and past historical information
Provide education and point in time advice on topics to help a retirement plan participant become best prepared for retirement, including: MyTotalRetirement (managed accounts), rollover into plan options, optimized investment allocation and savings amounts, financial planning, general financial wellness, health savings accounts, distribution options and additional products/solutions aligned with the customer’s needs
Educate or advise participants on managed account solutions, when appropriate, and enroll participants into a managed account solution
Provide a single point of contact for new enrollee, active or potential plan participant to successfully onboard into the plan and grow their assets in the plan to achieve their retirement goals
Answer and respond appropriately to operational and procedural inquiries from current retirement plan participants via inbound/outbound calls in-order to identify and/or close a sales opportunity
Initiate proactive/follow-up phone calls on behalf of the participant to current or prior provider to begin the necessary paperwork to transfer money into or out of Empower products
Handle pending issues to ensure timely and satisfactorily completion of the rollover of funds into or out of the plan
Demonstrate appropriate insight and judgment to resolve issues/problems through education/advice on appropriate solutions
Update and maintain account history and daily activity records based on participant calls in order to develop and track future consultation opportunities
Track and monitor the success rate and overall customer satisfaction through the sales process
Partner with the designated Participant Service Center team to provide a seamless engagement with participants and ensure timely resolution of issues and questions
What you will bring
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience
4 years’ sales/service experience in financial services or 401(k) industry
Proven ability to navigate multiple client needs and deliver on multi-product sales goals
Demonstrated organizational skills; strong written, verbal and presentation skills
FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations required within established timelines
FINRA fingerprinting upon hire

The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
