POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Sales Manager is to oversee the team of Sales Professionals and to ensure strong performance among individuals and the team as a whole. Daily responsibilities include individual and team coaching/training for both new hires and existing team members; hiring and recruiting; creating and maintaining sales operations, procedures, and strategies; and analyzing and driving team performance.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of Sales Professionals; provide guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the team meets sales targets
- Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to drive sales and improve closing percentages; this includes creating effective sales tactics to reach potential customers
- Train and practice with Sales Professionals on a variety of sales topics, from sales fundamentals to advanced scenarios; this includes both one-on-one training sessions as well as team-training sessions
- Create and update training content through our Learning Management System and assign content to new and existing team members; track, review, and grade completed training content as needed
- Conduct consultation reviews with Sales Professionals and provide feedback on strengths and areas of opportunity; create learning/training/improvement plans accordingly and manage the completion of those plans
- Conduct monthly pipeline reviews with Sales Professionals, ensuring that team members are implementing best practices and on target to achieve monthly goals; identify coaching opportunities to help team members close sales
- Assist with individual and team goal-setting on an annual and monthly basis; ensure that team members are trending toward achieving or exceeding their goals
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs); Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize sales effectiveness
- Create and update CRM reports, dashboards, and systems to draw team/individual insights, drive performance, and improve processes
- Create weekly sales performance reports summarizing individual and team performance; present performance reports to the team on a weekly basis
- Review and QA signed customer agreements for accuracy and completeness
- Develop a deep understanding of EmPower Solar’s financing and system design solutions
- Develop a deep industry knowledge, with a particular emphasis on the technical aspects of solar power and equipment, financing, legislative and regulatory policy, competitors, and market forces/influences
- Serve as an interdepartmental liaison between the Sales department and other departments at the company
- Demonstrate a commitment to the EmPower team, working with other team members to achieve common goals

YOU ALSO HAVE
- Demonstrated success in a sales or management role
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A strong familiarity with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendars, etc.
- A familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM

HOURS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a full-time position, approximately 45-50 hours/week expected. The compensation for this position is comprised of a base salary plus a commission / bonus structure. Benefits include a 4% match 401(k) program; health, dental, and vision benefits; unlimited vacation.
