Empowered Services desired outcome is to build a team of responsible, caring, and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP's)As an Empowered Services DSP, you will be building life skills and creating opportunities with our unique group of customers and families
Your goal will be to develop meaningful relationships that build confidence & independence and passionately help those with intellectual & developmental disabilities to live a more fulfilled and happy life.
Working one-on-one with each customer you serve, will allow you to assess his/her needs, meet desired outcomes, and tend to them accordingly with the goal of fostering a positive, encouraging, and safe environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:


Must have 2 or more years of experience in a customer service role and  prefer to have 1 or more years of experience in frequent communication and interaction with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  
Must follow and comply with company policies/procedures and the Oregon OAR’s.  Must pass a background check, be 18 years or older with a highschool diploma or equivalent.  Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record, obtain full coverage car insurance, and have a good running vehicle.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. BE A PERSONAL COMPANION TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND ACT AS A SUPPORTIVE FRIEND SERVING THEIR NEEDS AND SHOW A WORK ETHIC AND VALUES WITH INTEGRITY, HONESTY, AND DEPENDABILITY.
  2. ENCOURAGE & FOSTER OUR CUSTOMERS' PREFERRED HOBBIES, INTERESTS & COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS. 
  3.  ASSIST WITH AND WORK TO STRENGTHEN OUR CUSTOMERS' MANY DAILY LIVING NEEDS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: NUTRITION, HYGIENE, EXERCISE, COMMUNICATION, SOCIAL SKILLS, AND HOUSEHOLD CHORES.  
  4. HELP OUR CUSTOMERS IN THEIR DAILY LIVING, BEHAVIORAL SUPPORTS, MOBILITY & TRANSPORTATION, AND ALWAYS WORKING TO IMPROVE SELF-RELIANCE AND THEIR INDEPENDENCE.    
  5. CREATE DAILY SCHEDULES AND PLANS FOR EXCITING ADVENTURES & EVENTS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.
  6. HELP YOUR CUSTOMER TO MEET THEIR GOALS & DESIRED OUTCOMESTRACK YOUR CUSTOMER'S PROGRESS AND REPORT FEEDBACK TO THE CUSTOMER CARE SPECIALIST AND ADMIN STAFF.  
  7. WHEN NECESSARY, REPORT INCIDENTS IN THE HUB AND TO ADMIN STAFF IMMEDIATELY OR WITHIN 24 HOURS(DEPENDING ON SEVERITY) 
  8. ENCOURAGE INDIVIDUAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND WORK TOWARDS COMMUNITY INTEGRATION. DRIVE CUSTOMERS TO OUTINGS, APPOINTMENTS, MEETINGS, AND EVENTS, ETC. 
  9. DEVELOP MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS AND CONNECTIONS WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS. HELP THEM EMBRACE THAT THEY HAVE A VOICE, ARE VALUED, CARED FOR, AND INCLUDED IN THE COMMUNITY.  
  10. FOLLOW ALL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND ENSURE YOUR CUSTOMER'S HEALTH AND SAFETY ARE MAINTAINEDASSIST WITH MEDICATIONS OR MEDICAL ISSUES WHEN NEEDED.
  11. LOG AND TRACK YOUR TIME/MILEAGE IN THE HUB ON A DAILY, ACCURATE BASIS.   
  12. COMPLETE THE REQUIRED 24 HOURS OF YEARLY TRAINING IN THE HUB AND GET FURTHER CERTIFIED AS YOUR JOB POSITION REQUIRES.
  13. BE A COMPASSIONATE, PATIENT, AND N ENCOURAGING SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL TIMESYOU ARE CAREGIVER, CHEERLEADER, AND ADVOCATE ROLLED INTO ONE. THE WORK THAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS WILL CHANGE THE LIVES OF MANY FOR THE BETTER.
