At EMR we consider the Assistant Manager to be a pivotal and gateway position in our workforce. When you start with the company in this position, EMR will teach you everything you need to know about purchasing ferrous and nonferrous materials (telling the difference between metals). Building a strong foundation as a Assistant Manager and showing the capability and desire will give you the opportunity to advance within the company across our dozen locations.

Every current Depot Manager at EMR started out as a Assistant Manager! Some have gone on to be Operation Managers and Commercial Managers and continue to grow! This position is the perfect position to start your new career.

What You Will Do:

· Customer engagement; providing quality customer experiences, addressing customer questions and concerns effectively and with management assistance when necessary

· Weigh and purchase inbound scrap, obtaining required information from customers for all transactions.

· You will learn different skills such as equipment operation, weigh master operations etc.

· Properly follow company and OSHA safety practices and procedures

What You Need to Have:

· No previous experience in this field is necessary. We will teach you the ins and outs of our industry, however customer service experience is helpful

You Should Also Have:

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop outdoor environment

· Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, work independently and multitask

· Ability to read, write, and communicate efficiently

· Ability to use safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers

· Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

· Ability to be flexible to work off hours, including weekends, in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions

· You will be standing on your feet for the majority of your shift

· PPE Requirement: steel toed boots, safety glasses, hard hat, high visibility clothing, ear plugs
