Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Private Duty Nurse to join our team. As a Private Duty Nurse, you will provide personalized care to an ALS patient in his home. He is 42 years old, mentally sharp and uses eye gaze technology to communicate. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure his well-being, safety,and comfort while maintaining his dignity and privacy.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, trach and vent care, cough assist, nebulizer treatments, tube feeding
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and manage patient care
- Document patient information accurately and timely in notes and log
- Maintain a safe and clean environment
-Transfer patient for toileting and shower
- Drive patient to appointments and social engagements as needed
Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Quick learner, fast on your feet
- Able to work in pressure situations
- Likes animals (dog)
- Experience providing compassionate care to individuals with various medical conditions such as trach, ventilator and nebulizer care
- Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team
