Are you an experienced human resource professional looking for a unique leadership opportunity at a rapidly-growing company located in River North?
ENC Construction & Development is a general contracting firm located in the downtown Chicago area- ENCCD has built a reputation on thoughtfully designed, successful developments throughout the city of Chicago and other U.S states.
We're looking for someone to strengthen our team and aid in the administrative support of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and manage all human resource initiatives, such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations.
- Lead a team of other HR professionals.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure organization's compliance.
- Direct payroll processing.
- Assists with the monitoring of the company wage and salary structure and the variable pay systems within the company including bonuses and raises.
- Collaborate with other department managers to deliver employee training programs, employee feedback, ensure compliance, and facilitate performance management.
- Work with all levels on leadership and professional level development.
- Successfully communicate changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensure that proper compliance is followed.
- Handles employee disciplinary actions, including conflict resolution; checks that disciplinary records for write up/suspension/termination are handled appropriately and in line with prior precedents.
- Prepares documentation for litigation and arbitration proceedings and participates in the conduct of investigations.
- Tracks and posts OSHA-required data and files reports.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years progressive leadership and responsibility in HR positions.
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or HR Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices.
- Experience in the administration of payroll, compensation, and benefits programs.
- Strong computer skills.
- Prior recruiting experience.
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels in the organization.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with attention to detail a must.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure to de-escalate and resolve stressful situations.
- Ability to read, understand, and implement laws, rules, regulations, and contract terms for proper payroll and HR practices.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and communications.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
