EnCircle invites a highly motivated person to join our Learning and Development Team as a Training and Development Specialist. Our Training Development Specialist will be responsible for training our employees and other stakeholders including Foster Parents, Family Care Providers (FCPs) and Family Care Assistants (FCAs) in the Southwest Virginia areas.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, REQUIREMENTS AND PREREQUISITES
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, special education, sociology, or related field, and at least two years’ experience working with individuals with ID/DD.
- Certification as a First Aid/CPR trainer (AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross models) or ability to acquire certification within 30 days of employment.
- Valid Virginia Drivers’ License and proof of insurance.
- Satisfactory Driving Record in compliance with Driver Requirement Policy.
- Access to a personal vehicle for individual transport as required.
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with state licensing, Medicaid and other agency standards.
- Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and required paperwork according to licensing and agency requirements in a timely manner.
- Flexibility to work at multiple locations on a regular basis.
- Basic computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office preferred.
- Ability to observe health and safety regulations, uphold Human rights standards, including confidentiality.
- Hours of work flexible based on training needs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions: May be required to perform any of the following duties:
- Coordinate and conduct New Employee Workshop/Annual Training, and CPR/First Aid training.
- Train presenters in outlying areas and ensure they have the most recent information/materials.
- Work with HR and administrative assistants to ensure that all employees/FCPs/FCAs have completed all required trainings.
- Work with administrative assistants by telephone/e-mail to schedule a training date.
- In the event of a cancellation, contact all scheduled trainees to inform them of cancellation; contact administrative assistant, regional manager, and offsite contact (for offsite trainings).
- Organize and coordinate other trainings as requested by the division Director and/or Director of Training and Development and department/regional managers.
- Ensure the location’s Administrative Assistant receives all training paperwork (New Employee Workshop certificate, Annual Training Review, Human Rights test, and copies of First Aid/CPR cards).
- Ensure that all trainings are verified and recorded, and the proper paperwork is provided to the appropriate office/department for inclusion in the applicable file.
- Submit/maintain the proper documentation as required by credentialing bodies (AHA/Human Rights).
- Maintain training equipment and supplies as needed.
- Keep all instructor statuses current and submit documentation of such to HR.
- Assess and update trainings/paperwork and tests in order to meet changes; before implementing changes present to the division Director and/or Director of Training and Development for approval.
- Monitor health safety and quality alerts posted on the DBHDS website; notify division Director/Director of Training and Development of pertinent alerts and incorporate new information into training.
- All other duties as assigned.
