What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recruiter position at Endeavor Health?
General Summary
Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, with accountability to the Employment Team, assumes responsibility for entry level recruitment, interviewing, and selection of appropriate candidates in cooperation and conjunction with the department interviewing teams. Participates in the development and implementation of recruitment and retention programs.
Representative Functions
Screens all applications and resumes for hiring departments. Promptly responds to all written and telephone inquiries from prospective applicants, current employees, and the hiring managers related to position requirements, benefits, wages and general information concerning employment at NCH. Ensures that employment related communication complies with hospital policy and applicable EEO, INS, wage/hour and other state and federal regulations. Maintains internal and external candidate activity by using Taleo’s applicant tracking solution. .
Interviews candidates for entry level jobs and refers appropriate candidates on for departmental interviews. Confers with department managers regarding the specific qualifications for open positions and ensures that all applicants considered meet the minimal qualifications. Coordinates communication throughout the interviewing and selection process with department managers and/or interviewing team members and documents their feedback. Prepares all employment offers and communicates starting rates and rationale with hiring managers.
Determines need for advertising and develops plan for recruitment ads with advertising agency for specific open positions. Reviews/revises job posting with department managers. Monitors job posting expenses in a financially responsible manner.
Organizes and coordinates the activities of recruitment and retention initiatives for areas experiencing difficulties recruiting and/or retaining employees. Investigates, presents, and recommends new recruitment programs/ideas to department managers. Coordinates follow-through of programs initiated and reports results.
Communicates on a regular basis with department managers concerning staffing needs and employment challenges in their areas.
Plans and participates in career days and job fairs at NCH or other facilities. Meet potential applicants and highlight hospital features and positions based on the applicant’s interests and qualifications.
Corresponds with schools, colleges, and associations regarding participation in NCH recruitment activities and use of their publications for advertising. Develops and maintains personal contacts, and utilizes external sources such as outplacement facilities or other agencies to identify qualified applicants.
Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
Special Skills And Abilities Required
The interpersonal skills to interact effectively with job applicants, hospital employees (staff and management), and community recruitment resource people.
The ability to develop/cultivate applicant interest and to give support and encouragement to employees.
The analytical skills necessary to conceptualize and evaluate recruitment approaches/programs, gather data, design reports, summarize statistical results, and select and place candidates appropriately.
The planning and organizational skills necessary to develop, structure and coordinate multiple recruitment projects and programs.
The ability to maintain and report on key metrics such as time to fill, cost per hire, source and any other key metric identified by the Talent Acquisition Manager.
The written and verbal skills necessary to effectively portray Northwest Community Hospital and its philosophy and express recruitment policies to applicants.
Knowledge, Practical Experience And Licensure/Registration Required
Level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Behavioral Science, and/or related field.
Two years of Human Resources experience needed to acquire a thorough knowledge of recruitment programs and techniques, to develop an understanding of professional labor markets and to be proficient in interviewing and communicating with professional administrative hospital personnel and candidates.
Experience with an applicant tracking solution.
Experience in identifying job boards for specific positions at NCH.
Physical Requirements
Sometimes required to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time.
May require occasional lifting or moving of average weight material, or rarely lifting or moving heavy weight material.
