The Information Technology Department at Endicott College is seeking a Jr. Technology Specialist to assist with hardware deployments and support requests during the busy summer season. Endicott's IT Operations team is seeking someone who can perform a wide range of technical tasks and projects relating to the installation, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all classroom technology, computer, and software components and applications. In conjunction, these tasks will be expected to be performed with a high level of social and intra personal skills as demonstrated through communication, teamwork, and collaboration functions in order to provide technology support services to college customers, including students, faculty, staff and administration. Work is performed across campus in different settings as needed. The job responsibilities may be required to be carried out in school buildings, offices, classrooms, labs and designated instructional/learning areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Fulfill work order requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Perform physical duties associated with the delivery and relocation of technology equipment; includes maintaining the appropriate inventory documentation.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and analysis procedures to identify and correct network access and collectivity related problems.
- Solid base of technical knowledge and skills in computer hardware installation, repair and upgrade including proficiency with tools, diagnostic equipment and software.
- Diagnose and repair hardware, software and network troubles on Windows and Macintosh platforms.
- Assist the campus community with connecting IOT devices to the network.
- Keep records of all work done; must keep up-to-date on current technologies
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to offer technical support on-site, via phone or email.
Qualifications include:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Sciences or related field or relevant technical experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Macintosh and Windows operating systems, hardware and software
- Working knowledge of tablets, phones and other personal devices
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite, Google Apps for Education, and Internet applications
- Ability to relate to students
