What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tribal Technical Assistance Provider position at EnDyna?
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced a $1.96B Community Change Grants Program (Inflation Reduction Act Community Change Grants Program | US EPA). EnDyna has a contract from EPA to provide technical assistance to the communities under this grants program and we have an immediate need for experienced Technical Assistance to provide support to communities. EnDyna has also set up a web site for communities seeking technical assistance (www.communitychangeta.org).
Job Responsibilities:
- Community Support:
- Work closely with communities that have applied for grants, providing support and guidance throughout the application process.
- Build strong relationships with individuals and organizations on the ground, understanding their unique challenges and circumstances.
- Capacity Building:
- Center the voices and ideas of community members, recognizing their capacity for brilliance, innovation, and resilience.
- Facilitate training sessions to empower communities with the skills and knowledge needed to shape and implement environmental and climate justice projects.
- Strategic Problem-Solving:
- Navigate complex projects, demonstrating both common sense and intelligence to address challenges and seize opportunities.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to shape projects that address inequity, pollution, and other environmental justice issues.
- Forming Partnerships
- Assisting community-based organizations (CBOs) form partnerships with other CBOs, federally recognized tribal organizations (FRTOs) and/or local governments for the purposes of applying for government grants
- Climate Action and Pollution Reduction Problem Solving
- Assisting CBOs or FRTOs in providing climate action solutions
- Assisting CBOs or FRTOs in providing pollution reduction solutions
Qualifications:
- Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to relate to a wide variety of people and organizations.
- Deep belief in the capacity of communities, placing importance on community voices and ideas.
- Quick learner with both common sense and intelligence to navigate complex projects.
- Impeccable integrity and reliability in all aspects of work.
- Bonus points for specialized linguistic or cultural competency.
- Bonus points for experience in climate, environmental, or public health issues, creating workforce pipelines, or working with local governments.
EnDyna is looking for experienced technical assistance providers with a strong commitment to EPA’s community change mission. This will be a part-time, independent contractor role. You should be prepared to talk to the communities – in person, by phone and video conference. Some travel to the nearby communities may be needed. We will reimburse all pertinent expenses per federal government’s guidelines.
