Job Summary
Interfaces with senior management to ensure that corporate financial goals are reflected in divisional budgets and forecasts. Facilitates business leaders’ ability to communicate operational objectives in financial terms. Manages analytical analysis of business financial performance. Presents findings and specific recommendations to senior management.
Job Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities
- Performs in-depth financial analysis and assists with the establishment of key division performance indicators.
- Assists with the division’s business intelligence and financial analysis initiatives.
- Interacts with operational management, Accounting Department management and the Business Development organization to ensure that business objectives are translated into financial goals and objectives for EnergySolutions.
- Serves as a liaison between accounting and operating groups.
- Provides financial support for business development efforts.
- Provides cost/benefit analysis and discounted cash flow models to decision makers.
- Provides cash forecasts.
- Provides analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual results as compared to budgets and forecasts.
- Manages and evaluates employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching and feedback methods.
- Prepares and administers budget according to plan. Monitors budget variances. Provides explanations on variances and takes appropriate action.
- Follows organizational policies and procedures and ensures staff is in compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance or business administration
- Master’s degree in Accounting preferred
Certifications
- Certified Management Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred
Required Experience
- A minimum of 7 years of hands-on financial analysis
- A minimum of 3 years management experience in an accounting environment
Preferred Experience
- Oracle experience
- Database experience preferred
Required and Desired Skills
- Detailed knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong management skills to effectively manage multiple departments and mentor others within the organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, budgeting and forecasting
- Advanced proficiency using Excel, including creating pivot tables and other data manipulation techniques
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information
Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to sit, stand and walk
- Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to work inside an office
- Ability to perform highly repetitive motions with fingers, hands, wrists, and shoulders
