Compensation Range: $105k - $130k DOE
Job Purpose
Oversee all financial aspects of the Longmont, Colorado and Sylmar, California business entities and be responsible for the flow of financial information to the General Manager and to EAS Americas Finance Team. Managing the day-to-day activities of the business to ensure the company's financial activities are organized and efficient. Produce accurate and monthly financial and management results and prepare monthly forecasts of the local financial performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Management of the finance function; supervising and mentoring the finance team.
- Maintenance of financial ledgers, management accounts and accounting processes.
- Monthly preparation of P&L, balance sheet and management account support.
- Knowledge of project accounting and standard production accounting required for a customer base that includes U.S. Government and commercial customers.
- Monthly financial forecasting and analysis is required and from this information, guidance on cost control / improving profitability needs to be given to operations.
- Preparation of the annual financial budget and coordination of the location’s capital spending plan with the operations team.
- Ensuring that internal controls are implemented, documented, and maintained in compliance with GAAP, corporate policy and SOX
- Preparation of audit documentation, support of EnerSys tax staff for their filing compliance and timely production and/or review of account reconciliations.
- Manage working capital and AR collections.
- Work with operations team to establish effective cycle count program and inventory controls and physical inventory.
- Responsible for compliance with financial requirements under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) in relation to the government related business/customers.
- Coordination and review of the local hours tracking and payroll data for timely submission to EnerSys Payroll Dept for payroll processing.
Qualifications
The successful Financial Controller will be self-motivated and ambitious, with good communication skills. Experience in a government reporting and contracting environment is required.
Qualified accountant with preferably a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Knowledge of US Government Federal Acquisition Regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of ERP systems and good Excel skills
Experience with project tracking and accounting is preferred
