Description

  

The eCW  Specialist is responsible for the eCW EMR, utilized by physician practices. This includes but is not limited to: evaluating new practices per established guidelines, maintaining all practice EMRs in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, training of all new physicians and associates, developing training documentation, evaluating the EMR performance of staff and developing additional training as necessary, keeping current with new features and enhancements and training staff accordingly, analyzing and implementing policies and procedures governing all electronic data entry through the physician practices, implementing, training and monitoring the Meaningful Use guidelines, and working with physicians on a regular basis to develop better workflows.


Essential Functions: 

  • The Specialist works as a key member of the support team to plan, implement, build, configure, maintain, test, and train as needed to assure compliance with all up-to-date regulatory requirements and programs of the EMR. 
  • Ensure successful implementation of any new processes and provide ongoing support for all EngageMED clients
  • Implements and trains users how to best document to the highest level of patient care, while maintaining above-average scores on regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures EHR policies, workflows, certifications, and technologies comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Utilizes the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine areas of improvement, or of excellence, as it involves the clinical staff.
  • Recommends implementation and support strategies based on industry and corporate best practices.
  • Coordinates the information technology education process for EHR upgrades or other changes for all users, including clerical support, clinical support, and providers. 
  • Provides leadership to develop, test and train users according to a long-look strategic plan.

Basic Duties

  • Participate as a key member of the core implementation team charged with successfully implementing and supporting an EHR system by becoming a subject matter expert in the functionality of the electronic practice management and electronic medical records software. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact and application subject matter expert for the physician offices during the implementation process; on site go-live support and post implementation phase, including optimization.
  • Analyze and document the requirements of a physician's office and clinical workflow as they pertain to the implementation of electronic practice management and electronic medical records software.
  • Prepare recommendations and/or alternatives that address existing and potential areas of improvements in physician offices operations.
  • Redesign existing workflows to leverage the EHR application and document, review, and train future state workflows.
  • Design and configure the electronic medical records software in the most efficient manner to support the physicians' office requirements and future state workflows.
  • Create, utilize, and implement customized training curriculum to train and instruct the physician's office staff on the use the features of the electronic practice management and electronic medical records software effectively.
  • Directly and remotely support the physicians and physician office staff in the use of the software.
  • Utilize eCW-specific resources for configuration and programming of EHR, including but not limited to: 
  • Provide help desk support to end users, including but not limited to:
  • Assist or lead in various updates, upgrades, implementations, or other projects, as requested, to completion.
  • Demonstrate and maintain the highest level of responsibility, integrity, reputability, and propriety in order to promote the value of our company and embody the vision of our standards.

Requirements

  

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred 
  • 3 years’ experience with EMR / EHR system assisting with system implementation and support required 
  • Operational experience with EMR / EHR system(s). Background in application support/analyst/ in healthcare related field
  • Previous experience with workflow analysis/documentation, end-user training/support and system testing 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Outlook. 
  • Experience working with computer networks and software development preferred.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong teaching and training skills to deliver and exhibit EHR documentation requirements for end users. Experience in training health care providers (clinical and non-clinical staff).
