Custodian

Job Summary:

The purpose of the Custodian is to be responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous responsibilities to ensure Engineered Floors’ buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Clean offices, meeting rooms, breakrooms and restroom facilities
• Mop floor areas.
• Dust all furniture and fixtures as required
• Wash and disinfect all restroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers and fixtures
• Clean all mirrors
• Replenish tissue and soap as needed
• Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans in restrooms, in and around break areas and place garbage in outside storage bin
• Clean main entrances and exits including glass, doors and hardware, and keep outside areas clear of cans, paper, etc.
• Clean, wash and disinfect drinking fountains
• Clean kitchen sinks and counters
• Report minor maintenance repairs, damages and acts of vandalism
• Spot clean walls and toilet partitions
• Maintain storage areas, cleaning equipment, materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

• Ability to stand, walk, bend and stretch the majority of the shift
• Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 55 lbs.)
• Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System preferred
• Ability to read and understand labels and instructions in English, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products

Experience/Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Other Requirements:

• Overtime is required on occasion.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
