Job Summary/Purpose
Acquires and manages land and land rights for distribution lines as required by Entergy in the New Orleans, Louisiana Distribution Service area.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Assisting with route and site selection for proposed distribution line projects to satisfy customer and engineering requirements which requires close interaction with the Regulatory, Engineering, Construction, Design, Planning and Legal Departments.
Preparation and execution of various agreements/instruments and manage the process pertaining to land acquisition and right of way agreements to satisfy customer and engineering requirements which requires close interaction with Regulatory, Engineering, Construction, Design, Planning and Legal Departments and external interaction with individual landowners, attorneys, appraisers, abstractors, various contractors, foresters, banking institutions and governmental entities ranging from the local to the federal level.
Acquisition of necessary permitting such as railroad permits, highway permits, pipeline crossing agreements and assisting the Environmental staff with acquisition of Corps. of Engineers, Parish and State permits, etc.
Assisting in the management of contract right of way personnel, reviewing expenditures and the issuance of right of way payment checks.
Coordination of the leasing and/or selling of easement rights to others for uses consistent with operational needs or requirements. Coordination of the selling or disposal of fee properties no longer required by the Company. Manage Right of Way documents in compliance with Corporate Record Retention Policies.
Work with Distribution Line & Vegetation personnel to resolve landowner damages and encroachments. Assuming a Distribution Logistics role during storm restoration activities.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education and experience required of the position
Desired: college or university degree.
5 years’ experience in Distribution, Substation or Transmission ROW Agent Activities required.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
History of safe performance, active safety involvement and participation and strong desire for a safer workplace. Experience in new ROW acquisition procedures for new line construction. Strong Negotiation, Interpersonal & Group Communication skills. Strong Planning\Organization\Time Management skills. Knowledge of Distribution Line or Standards and Construction & Maintenance practices. Strong Computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel & Outlook, Power Point).
