What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site-Director: School-age Childcare position at ENVISIONS?

Job Description: Primary responsibilities of all staff are to protect the health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of each child in the program.

  • Cooperate with state and local regulatory agencies as needed, and conform to health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Implement policies of admission, attendance, fees, and program goals.
  • Protect and update records that pertain to the administration of the program (child files, accounts receivable)
  • Maintain weekly child rosters
  • Process staff and child time cards
  • Assist Business Office with bills and payments
  • Responsibly handle petty cash and maintain credit card receipts and expenditure forms
  • Maintain children’s files in accordance with DHS regulations
  • Maintain and update emergency paperwork and medical files
  • Complete a site-safety checklist monthly
  • Supervise and provide a professional role model and guidance to staff.
  • Supervise program, space, equipment, and materials, and arrange for needed repairs.
  • Manage weekly staff schedules and submit a copy to the Business Office.
  • Assist staff in finding coverage when unable to work a scheduled shift, and arrange for expanded staff coverage on early dismissal and late starts.
  • Maintain updated substitute informational folder.
  • Assist Supervisors in planning and implementing activities, plans must be posted weekly.
  • Inventory and secure weekly supplies for snack and projects, and operate within program budget guidelines with responsible use of credit card account.
  • Communicate directly with parents/guardians and be responsive to the needs of the children.
  • Read and disseminate as appropriate all handouts, resources, memos and training information forwarded from the Business Office or other professional organizations.
  • Plan and implement regular monthly staff meetings and planning sessions and submit minutes of the meeting to the Business Office in a timely manner.
  • Assist in recruiting new staff, training and evaluating staff as needed.
  • Attend monthly Site Director Meetings.
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities as a mandated child abuse reporter.
  • Function as a regular staff as needed and extra staff whenever possible and provide support to site staff.
  • Observe, evaluate and monitor self, staff and program.
  • Assist staff in solving individual and group job-related problems, request assistance from the Business Office if necessary.
  • Conduct intake conferences with returning families and with new families as requested by the Business Office.
  • Facilitate parent/staff meetings.
  • Plan, conduct, and document monthly fire drills, and emergency drills as designated following the Emergency Operations Plan.
  • Update annually Emergency Operations Plan, including securing evacuation site.
  • Plan and organize programs and routines with supervisors. Assist in planning special activities, service projects and fund raisers (with business office approval).
  • Evaluate and review with staff each child’s adjustment to the program after the first 30 days of attendance and again after 6 months of care.
  • Facilitate thorough and efficient orientation with new staff and families.
  • Prepare a monthly newsletter with the involvement of supervisors and children, to be reviewed by the Business Office before distributing. Distribute final copies to all families, staff, other sites, Business Office and school principal.
  • Cooperate and maintain a professional relationship with MTSD administrators, teaching and support staff.
  • Attend annually required professional development trainings.
  • Assist Administrative Staff with additional tasks as assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
