The ideal candidate for this role is skilled in the art of visual storytelling, and someone who can take an idea and bring it to life in video. Under the supervision of the MarComm Director, you will actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability; collaborate with teams to design graphics, videos, and other content that supports our designated messaging; and bring ideas to life with visual impact. This position will be located at our Headquarters building located in Southfield, Michigan.
*This is NOT a remote position. This is an on-site position. Must reside in Metro Detroit area*
When you become our next Video Editor you’ll take on:
Manipulate film and video footage to create a coherent and complete project that accurate depicts the stakeholders’ vision. Expectations include:
Meeting with the stakeholder to determine production vision
Trimming footage and putting together the rough project
Inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, special effects, and animation where needed
Ensuring the project follows a logical sequence
Creating the final cut for broadcasting
Maintaining a pulse on the digital landscape and relevant creative work across web, social, mobile, and digital signage
Assist with creating Power Point presentations, websites, e-flyers, flash banners, sales materials, online forms, videos, training materials, virtual reality content, and interactive pieces
Supporting and protecting the brand and brand guidelines on all activities
Assisting management or other company representatives with artwork and file preparation, reviewing proofs as necessary
Coordinating the research and purchase of stock photography and illustration
Promoting continual creative improvement and innovation as trends change
Doing other stuff too, because all of our EPIC Warriors are team-oriented and high-performers (two of our core values) who are always ready to jump in and help out

You would be a great fit for this role if you have:
A Bachelor’s Degree in film studies, cinematography, graphic design, or related field
Exceptional creativity and innovative design skillsPrevious work experience as a video editor
1 years experience (either academic or professional) with editing software, including Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, or Premier
Excellent organization, prioritization, and decision-making skills
Familiarity with 3D composition, special effects, animation, and virtual reality
Ability to work on a tight schedule and translate ideas into complete projects
An example of your visual storytelling to share your skillset with the hiring team
The gumption to try new things and pivot when you see an opportunity to improve
An understanding that a mistake is an opportunity to coach and learn
