The ideal candidate sets up and operates slitting machines to slit continuous lengths of material meeting delivery requirements and quality standards to customer specifications. Candidates should have a working knowledge of setting up, running, and maintaining cutting equipment. Experience operating large-size cutting systems is preferred.

Cutting associates are detail-oriented as well as energetic. Since we are consistently working with multiple clients and several projects at once, it is important that our candidates keep a keen eye on the specified details of a job, as well as be able to meet deadlines. You must be quick on your feet, motivated, and enjoy new and creative ways to employ your skill set.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Determine which jobs are to be run based on production release reports and customer delivery requirements.
• Review job information packets.
• Set up machines, ensuring proper operation. Bring master rolls to the machine
• Observe the material flow through the machine to detect irregular cutting and winding, ensuring specifications are correct.
• Apply appropriate labeling on completed products.
• Stack rolls onto skids.
• Make certain all documentation and reporting is complete and accurate.
• Ensure correct labeling is on boxes.
• Visually inspect final product for nonconformance to established quality standards.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A keen eye for detail
• Ability to accurately read and use measuring stick to assure correct cuts
• Exceptional time-management skills and capability of meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift in excess of 25 pounds
• Ability to perform frequent bending, twisting, and turning movements
• Ability to carry out frequent reaching, pushing and pulling motions
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Reliable daily transportation
• Cell phone
• Positive attitude/work ethic, willing to learn
• Good communication skills
• High School Degree or Equivalent Education

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
