What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Business Partner position at Epworth Children & Family?
Primary Responsibilities:
Recruitment
- Participate in hiring events and job fairs as needed.
- Provide support to applicants in completing background checks. Track where applicants are in the onboarding process and maintain consistent communication.
- Work with managers and other departments to ensure new hires are set up for their first day of work to include office, name plates, computer, cell phones, keys, and any other resources needed for their first day
- Conduct new hire orientation including preparing ID badges and administering keys
- Process all new hires including creating HR files, entering into required systems (HRIS, LMS, Operating), following up with training & compliance forms.
- Oversees all agency onboarding compliance to include: FCSR, OIG, MVR, physical exams and TB, etc.
- Manage staff credentials and licensing
- Responsible for ensuring employee files are in compliance to state, federal and funder requirements
- Maintain OSHA logs and post as required.
- Organize and maintain employee I-9s and enroll in E-Verify
- Perform periodic audits of HR files.
Employee Relations
- Act as point person for all colleagues with HR-related questions
- Participate in employee investigations as required
- Provides advice and assistance to applicants, managers and employees relative to standard policies, procedures, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Ensure timely and accurate bi-weekly payroll entry and processing
- Work with managers to ensure all payroll-related information is received on time including change notices, bonuses/incentives, terminations, and time and attendance approvals.
- Coordinate employee benefits including enrollments, terminations and changes and answering employee questions.
- Manage FMLA and other leaves of absence
Employee Engagement
- Facilitate open, two-way, timely communication and collaboration, supporting understanding between all levels of colleagues.
- Coordinate the agency Employee survey and performance improvement programs.
- Maintain a high level of visibility and approachability for all colleagues.
- Administer exit interviews and complete termination paperwork and system deactivations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in HR from a four-year accredited college or university or related relevant experience.
- 3 years of progressive HR generalist related experience.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications
- Knowledgeable in benefits administration and compliance
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local employment law
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintains integrity and confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Physical requirement - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work on location at other Epworth sites once weekly.

Salary : $55,600 - $70,400
