Job Description
The Opportunity:
The Flight Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Daytona Beach Campus is accepting applications for a Flight Dispatch and Ramp Operations Manager responsible for managing customer service representatives/ dispatchers, fuel vendors, aircraft washers, and Flight Operations Training Facilitates to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective daily operations for the Flight Training Department.
The Flight Operations Manager is directly responsible for the Flight Training Department's oversight, supervision, development, coordination, assessment, and strategic growth. This position serves as the primary communication and coordination link between flight operations and the Chief, Chairman, Scheduling Department, Maintenance Department, IT Development, and other University entities in the effective management of Flight Operations. This leadership role is responsible for the workflow and strategic oversight of operations and implementation of department policies and improvements and includes administration and financial management.
Management/ Leadership:
· Maintain all aspects of the day-to-day Flight Operation’s needs: supplies, aircraft fuel expenditures, fuel cards, TSA/ AOA badge management, flight planning equipment, flight planning forms, and the maintenance of Flight Training building facilities.
· Strategically develop innovative progress with building upgrades to meet the standards for flight training.
Ramp Operations:
· Monitor the preservation of the ERAU Flight Training fleet of 103 aircraft.
· Oversee that all TSA compliance and regulatory OSHA needs are met on the flight ramp. Maintain a safe and efficient ramp through repairs and upgrades.
· Supervise and strategically implement operational changes for improved ramp flow. Monitor and oversee Fuel services for aircraft fleets, from managing operational staffing needs to quality assurance and operational compliance.
· Monitor and oversee Aircraft washing services for the entire aircraft fleet, including scheduling flows, meeting contractual obligations, and improving the quality of preventative maintenance of university assets.
Resource Management:
· Manage aircraft flow and maintenance downtime with Fleet Maintenance Department to maximize aircraft dispatch availability.
· Monitor and Oversee processes through electronic clipboard, ETA, RMS, and key tagging to stay compliant and efficient with utilization.
Customer Service and student management
· Ensure excellent and efficient customer service to all students, staff, and external clients.
· Manage the Recruitment, Hiring, Training and Personnel needs of Flight Dispatch Department. Determine staffing forecast and staffing level needs throughout the year to meet operational demands.
· Provide growth and career development to enhance employee engagement, morale, and job satisfaction.
· Managing all aspects of the events from TSA compliance, staffing, logistical and operational needs.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree: Management/Leadership
3-5 years of experience
FAA Certificated Flight Instructor/ Instrument CFI rating preferred
Familiarity with aircraft maintenance scheduling requirements and ETA, electronic clipboard, and Workday preferred. Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office applications.
