Job Summary: The construction driver is responsible for safely transporting construction materials, equipment, and personnel to and from job sites. They must adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles and ensure the secure loading and unloading of materials. Additionally, the construction driver may be required to assist with basic construction tasks and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles, including trucks, vans, and specialized construction vehicles, to transport materials, equipment, and personnel to various job sites.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including speed limits, vehicle weight limits, and safety standards.
- Securely load and unload construction materials and equipment onto vehicles, ensuring that they are properly secured and balanced for transportation.
- Inspect vehicles before and after each trip to ensure that they are in proper working condition and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.
- Assist with basic construction tasks, such as lifting and moving materials, operating equipment, and performing site clean-up as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other personnel to coordinate transportation logistics and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents, injuries, and property damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping vehicles clean and properly maintained.
- Attend training sessions and safety meetings as required to stay current on company policies, procedures, and best practices.
Primary responsibilities of the role during the tenure of your position will include but not be limited to:
· Manage the materials inventory for jobs, track and report usage and order needs
· Deliver materials to job sites based on a schedule of needs/priorities each day
· Begin route early enough to support job and crew needs (consistently)
· Fuel onsite equipment when needed
· Communicate with Superintendents on plans for deliveries
· Assist with forward looking needs to ensure job productivity
Compensation for this role is comprised of several components including an hourly pay of $18.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience. Some overtime will be required, limited to 10 hours per week. Your employment will start with a 90 day probationary period that will be evaluated to determine fit for the role. After that is complete, you will be considered for a raise in pay or salary, eligibility for benefits. ERW will supply a truck for your usage as part of your compensation package and an ERW Credit Card for job related expenses. In addition, ERW will provide $50/month for mobile phone usage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Clean driving record with no history of serious traffic violations or accidents.
- Previous experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably in a construction or similar industry.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks in a construction environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
