Position Summary:
The Real Estate Paralegal will be responsible for assisting with all title and real estate related matters during the development phase of Solar Energy Projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Document preparation and review of real estate documents, including lease option agreements, option memoranda, purchase and sale agreements, leases, lease memoranda, easements, assignments, surface waivers, notices of exercise, escrow letters, subordination agreements, and other real estate documents.
- Work with development teams & external legal counsel to draft & finalize lease option agreements & purchase option agreements and other real estate documents.
- Ensure all lease agreements and purchase agreements comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Assist in coordinating with title companies to obtain title reports and title documents in accordance with project time schedules. Assist in reviewing title reports, identify issues, assist clearing title exceptions.
- Answer questions on routine document requirements of the Company
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Associate Degree in paralegal studies from an accredited college.
- 3 years’ experience as a paralegal (real estate background preferred).
- Knowledge of real estate documents, including lease option agreements, option memoranda, purchase and sale agreements, leases, lease memoranda, easements, assignments, surface waivers, notices of exercise, escrow letters, subordination agreements.
- Must be able to read and analyze heavily worded legal documentation.
- Experience with title/survey matters
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivation and demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Impeccable attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
- Success building rapport and collaborating with others internally and externally.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat software
- Florida Notary Public.
