Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find
appropriate and acceptableCoordinate activities for cooperative libraries and digital media services.
On-site technical assistance/visits to meet TEA accreditation for libraries.
Assess the needs of the cooperative libraries.
Organize and lead library academies.
Establish procedures for acquisition and processing, cataloging, and
inventorying of materials, both print and non-print, in the cooperative libraries.
Establish that each district has board adopted policies in compliance with all
TEA policies and rules.
Encourage effective use of the instructional resources available from Region 8,
TEA, and the community.
Meet with the superintendent of each cooperative LEA to discuss the status of
the LEA library.
Provide technical assistance, training, awareness, and resources which
promote the integration of current and emerging technologies into the systemic
curriculum and have a potential for increased student performance within
LEA’s.
Provide technical assistance, awareness, training or other appropriate
resources relating to legislative changes requiring adjustments to LEA library
policies or practices.
Provide technical assistance, awareness, training or other appropriate
resources to LEA’s regarding library databases.
Provide technical assistance, awareness, training and resources to LEA’s in
selection, use and implementation of technology tools for school libraries.
Provide technical assistance, awareness, training or other appropriate
resources to cooperative LEA’s regarding library research databases.
Coordinate with Digital Media specialists to provide LEA’s technical assistance,
awareness, and training on library research databases and digital media
resources.
Develop and maintain partnerships with the Texas Education Agency (TEA),
and other relevant professional organizations.
Travel (meaning to drive one’s own vehicle) to and from LEA's to fulfill program
and project specific objectives is required. Out of region travel may also be
required.
Coordinate and deliver effective training, staff development, and technical
assistance in areas pertinent to the program or project.
Process all personal timekeeping, travel reporting and other paperwork in a
timely manner
Maintain professional attire and grooming appropriate for specific job position.
Demonstrate punctual and regular attendance on the job
Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
Supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the ESC
Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC
