This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off benefits program after 90 days of employment.
Position Summary:
The Food Service Director is responsible for supervising the food service staff. The responsibilities for this position include: budgetary compliance, quality assurance, Menu management, department management, overseeing service of meals to residents, food preparation, providing consultation concerning the activities of the food service department in order to provide service as per professional and legal standards, staffing, scheduling and job assignments.
Eskaton Gold River is a picturesque senior living community consisting of 55 assisted living units, 23 memory care units and 17 pre-memory care units. The starting salary for this position ranges from $64,480 to $77,376 annually.
Position Responsibilities include:
• Provides assessment of the food services department in order to outline the community needs and establish priorities.
• Directly supervises the food service employees
• Must be competent in the preparation, cooking, and serving of general and therapeutic diet meals for residents.
• Ensures quality of food items ordered and served.
• Recruits, hires, orients and trains employees which includes: on-the-job training, ongoing in service education, adherence to policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations.
• Carries out the approved menu cycle, making the proper adjustments and communication when necessary.
• Orders supplies, maintains an appropriate inventory, and ensures proper storage of foods and kitchen supplies.
• Maintains standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the food services department.
• Designs, develops, and implements food service policies and procedures. Provides preventive maintenance programs and budgetary guidelines for the department.
• Ensures that proper labor cost controls are maintained.
• Reviews inspection and consultant reports. Recommends intervention and follow-up when appropriate.
• Evaluates dining facilities and equipment needs and provides capital and small equipment recommendations.
• Responsible for ensuring quality assurance. Routinely conducts audits to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D. Food Service Management Degree or Commensurate work experience. Serv Safe certification required.
Training and Experience:
A minimum of three years work experience supervising food service operations.
Job Knowledge:
Ability to understand and work harmoniously with residents, staff and healthcare professionals. Ability to maintain high professional and ethical standards. Computer proficiency is strongly recommended.
