What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resource Coordinator I position at ESPN?
The Resource Coordinator facilitates all production/client requirements across Edit. The individual should possess an understanding and knowledge of all facilities in Bristol as well as all Edit satellite offices. The individual should also have extensive knowledge of the editing requirements across all productions, events and disciplines that they schedule. The Resource Coordinator will be required to forecast needs by providing on-going analysis of Production and Programming scenarios and the impact on facilities, personnel, overtime and headcount.
Department Summary:
ESPN Creative Studio is the complete creative division of ESPN. Our staff comprises of Motion Graphics, Edit, Visual Storytelling, Production Enhancements and Innovations, Creative Operations, and the Music group. Positions within Creative Studio include; Video Editors, Post Editors, Producer Editors, Sound Design, Color/Compositor, etc. We are the go-to destination to conceptualize, develop, and execute content creation across all domestic and international ESPN distribution platforms.
Responsibilities:
Ability to multi-task and collaborate with other resource coordinators a must.
Work closely with the Edit Management on scheduling and coordination initiatives as needed.
Contribute insight in meetings and provide reports/data/information when requested.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Be clear and concise in all forms of communication, ability to handle high-volume requests, manage multiple lines of communication at the same time, as well as digital and in-person interactions with staff, management and clients.
Required duties will include interpreting complex event traffic information; follow up analysis and problem solving.
Evaluate and recommend staffing options for events and to compensate for illness, vacations or other absences.
Must possess strong organizational skills (i.e. budgeting time and prioritizing workload, accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, ability to implement systematic processes and organize information flow).
Provide feedback on workflows, the amount of work compared to the amount of resources, the ebbs and flows through different sports seasons, and identify workflow solutions and efficiencies.
Knowledgeable of edit resources available to Production and can work with Production on best options.
Collaborates with Production Management and Edit Management on growth opportunities for editors that can be executed in the assignment of elements.
Must understand the value of synergy in a dynamic organization.
Demonstrates ability to take initiative; suggests ideas and solutions to problems that arise or before they occur.
Has knowledge of the operational and logistical aspects of production planning.
Has demonstrated ability to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of sensitive production situations that arise and are subject to continual change.
Required Qualifications:
2 yrs experience in facilities scheduling, crewing and/or the edit team, post house, or large market/ network level. Possesses basic understanding of the production of studio shows, remote events, and packaged shows.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams).
Has an understanding of editing platforms and workflows in a specific area(s) including but not limited to Avid, Adobe (Premiere, AE, Audition, etc.), Grass Valley, Edius, Resolve, etc.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of ENPS, Slack, Scheduall, Media Pulse, Smart Sheets, Metrix
Bilingual (written and spoken) in both English and Spanish
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Studio Production, Journalism, or a related field
Vocational School or related experience
