The Digital Technology & Innovation Group (DTIG) is a division within ELC Online responsible for developing digital innovative consumer experiences that support the ELC portfolio of Brands.
DTIG is a driven team, composed of talented and passionate product managers, UX designers and engineers who work with teams across the division and company to drive constant innovation with our consumer at the center. From trend analysis to augmented reality to machine learning, our team develops digital products that enhance the consumer experience, solves business challenges and/or fills gaps in the consumer journey.
Position: UX/UI Design
DTIG seeks an Asst. Manager, UX/UI Design, with strong creative and conceptual design thinking, at the intersection of design and technology. A successful candidate is a visual storyteller, has a strong grasp of business goals, user needs, and consumer insights to understand UX problems, and can translate them into engaging, intuitive, and delightful solutions. The ideal candidate has a passion for emerging technology and strong experience partnering with multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Strong UI / interaction design skills with deep understanding of UX.
- Design innovative, intuitive, and multi-channel experiences for web and mobile.
- Conduct user research and work with data to inform design approach
- Communicate and deliver the user experience at different stages of the design process with detailed user flows, journeys, product maps, wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes optimized for various touchpoints
- Collaborate with Strategists, Developers, Producers and brand/marketing teams to deliver exceptional results ensuring the creative product meets strategic goals and brand expectations.
- Manage overall creative tasks and deliverables for multiple projects and brands.
- Present creative concepts and communicate functionality to brand stakeholders.
- Collaboratively ideate on new project concepts with varying stakeholders.
- Demonstrate solid project management skills to assist producers with work estimates and planning.
- Ask questions, take risks, represent the consumer, and champion new ideas.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Have a solid understanding of visual and user experience design disciplines and principles.
- Strong, modern UI / Interaction design aesthetics with careful attention for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, design & refine creative with a strong brand vision.
- A portfolio that demonstrates work across a variety of digital experiences, e.g. mobile/tablet UI and apps, e-commerce /m-commerce sites. Experience building products with visual search, AR, AI & machine learning technology is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency with UX/UI design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Creative Suite, Axure, Invision, etc)
- A strong affinity for usability testing, research, and iterative prototyping as an essential part of the design process
- Passionate about understanding and advocating for the user and business/brand needs.
- Ability to work through complex workflows with whiteboards, flow charts, and wireframes.
- Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Exceptional communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in web and mobile (preferably agency and interaction work, e-commerce / luxury / beauty experience a plus).
Education
- Masters or Bachelors degree (MFA/MA/MS, BFA/BA/BS) or equivalent in Interaction, Visual Communications, User Interface (UI) Design, Art, Human Computer Interaction (HCI)
