What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Specialist II position at Estes Express Lines?

This position provides support to an assigned group of major accounts.
  • Proactively review operations tagging reports to ensure freight is positioned for on time delivery
  • Work with Operations leadership to identify and recommend solutions for trends developing on accounts
  • Participate in customer meetings and account reviews
  • Build rapport/working relationships with customers
  • Educate customers on Estes’ products and technology looking for opportunities to upsell.
  • Prepare customized reports for customers ensuring compliance to standard operation procedure (SOP)
  • Assist with on-the-job training for new employees
  • Act as first point of contact for issue resolution
  • Mentor and guide level I account specialists
  • Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications
  • High School or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
  • 3 years Customer Service or Sales Support experience required
  • 1 year Transportation/logistics experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Estes’ product offering, operations, rules and regulations, rates, billing and corrections procedures highly preferred
  • Occasional travel in support of customers supported
  • Must be able to work in a high volume environment while remaining organized
  • Confident, friendly, professional, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to listen attentively to customer needs and concerns; demonstrate empathy.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly gain product knowledge
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and on the telephone required
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with AS/400 helpful.
  • Required to support 24 hour on-call rotation
  • Must be self-directed with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must have flexibility to work various schedules in support of seasonal customers or business needs
  • Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
  • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
  • Must be able to interact well with others
  • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
  • Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
