Job Description
esVolta seeks motivated and energetic candidates to join our team as Procurement Manager, reporting to the company’s Vice President of Procurement. The successful candidate will have at least five years of relevant procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management experience, preferably in the renewable energy or energy storage field.
The Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development of and participating in procurement strategy, and contracting activities in support of developing, building, and operating esVolta’s pipeline of standalone energy storage projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive key procurement activities relating to pricing, forecasting, procurement inputs into financial models, and internal communications to key stakeholders including development, construction, and finance teams
- Lead analysis and evaluation of supplier product options and make recommendations for suppliers, contractors, and industries including quantifying and managing contractual risk with suppliers and contractors. Prepare and manage Request for Proposal packages and evaluate equipment supply bids and EPC service contracts to support award decisions
- Support negotiation and documentation of procurement agreements for energy storage equipment and ancillary equipment, including supply and warranty agreements
- Maintain the necessary technical and administrative infrastructure to manage historical pricing across all projects and technologies; create forward-looking reports projecting price and technology improvements for all major storage equipment
- Monitor and evaluate the risk of geopolitical and regulatory initiatives that impact the supply chain and develop the mitigation and/or contingency procurement strategies
- Maintain commercial relationships with equipment suppliers, and evaluate, establish, and cultivate new relationships with strategic suppliers
- Support effective implementation of procure-to-pay best practices
- Support procurement and supply chain development in new markets in line with the Company’s compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements, including qualifying and auditing suppliers in collaboration with EH&S and legal teams
- Collaborate with the Company’s procurement, engineering, construction, legal, development, EH&S, and operations teams to analyze procurement options and to assist in making equipment supply recommendations
- Facilitate the execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) with prospective suppliers, contractors, and partners
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, supply chain management, or related discipline
- Five (5) or more years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or a related field. Experience in renewable energy and/or battery storage equipment is greatly preferred
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of EPC contracts and good contract negotiation skills and experience
- Excellent analytic skills, and ability to explain complex concepts clearly via verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Capable of acting in challenging situations with initiative and authority.
- Strong drive to deliver results, persistent in overcoming obstacles and eager to take responsibility for making things happen.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Compensation and Location
The anticipated annual salary plus bonus range for this position is listed below. The actual salary and bonus offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.
Procurement Manager Salary $130 – 170,000 Bonus 20-25%
Location flexible, option to work-from-home with periodic office visits for in-person engagement or to work from company offices in Newport Beach.
