What’s the role?

We are looking for an experienced Analytics professional to support the Marketplace Integrity and Compliance teams within our Trust & Safety organization.      

As an Operations Analyst partnered with Trust & Safety you will work to deliver clear insights, and provide access to metrics, data models,  and tools needed for decision-making and optimization at all levels of the organization.  Your work ensures Etsy is able to provide a safe, trusted marketplace for the millions of buyers and sellers in the Etsy community.  Are you passionate about using sophisticated data analysis to drive risk mitigation and compliance strategies? This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager, Member Service Analytics. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the U.S. who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What does the day-to-day look like?

• Identify simple, repeatable data requests and use automation to convert them to self-serviceable solutions using Looker

• Build Data Pipelines and reporting to track volume of content moderation and compliance issues

• Create operational forecasts to inform staffing models to support trust & safety workflows.

• Work closely and collaboratively with Trust & Safety leads to develop strategies to drive operational efficiencies based on insights from your data and reporting

• Define metric-focused goals around initiatives (e.g., IP/counterfeit infringement, regulatory compliance) and operational efficiency to guide your partner teams

• Continually refine your analytical and reporting toolkit to empower your teams with data

• Build out sophisticated, robust data pipelines and reporting and industry-leading measurement techniques to inform the operational processes and strategy for your partner teams

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• 2 years of proven success as an analyst working independently to support teams with data access, reporting, and insights

• Successful track record of distilling highly complex problems into narratives that are concise, action focused, and memorable, and express your recommendations with both conviction and finesse

• Demonstrated proficiency with analytical techniques, SQL, and data visualization tools (Looker preferred)

• Ability to communicate insights to senior executives verbally, visually, and in writing

• Experience in the Compliance domain such as AML/KYC, Sanctions, or Content Moderation preferred
