What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper/Office Manager position at Eugene Burger Management Corporation?
You will be working with current staff and providing the following tasks:
- Yardi Experience Required
- Prepare and review monthly work papers and conduct reconciliations of GL accounts to subsidiary ledger
- Assist in training accounting team members
- Assist with maintenance/setup of accounting database software, including property, commitment and bank account setup, and lease administration as needed
- Manage monthly bank reconciliation and management fee billing processes
- Prepare general journal entries as needed and Review/Assist staff journal entries prior to posting to general ledger
- General Leger account analysis
- Assist Controller with annual audit preparation and coordination
- Manage month-end close procedures and execution
- Respond to accounting inquiries through research and interpretation of financial information
- Year-end tax form (1099/1098) preparation for various business entities
- Implement best practices for cash management and internal controls across all assets, including oversight of monthly bank reconciliations (cash and accrual basis) and review of reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and applicable schedules.
- Assist in annual budget preparation with requested financial information and analysis
- Assist with furthering miscellaneous accounting and organizational objectives by completing related assignments as needed
- Communicate professionally and accurate accounting information with Clients, Property Owners, Tenants, Vendors, Property Supervisors, On-site Managers, etc.
- Basic knowledge and capability to read and decipher Lease and Vendor Contracts to determine owner/tenant obligations, i.e. tenant billing treatments and monthly ledger charges
- Assist in ensuring that expenses are accounted for appropriately to the GL and Budget.
- Responsible for resolving various tenant billing issues including CAM reconciliations, direct expense billings, and other leasing obligations that may affect tenant ledgers.
- Year End Commercial Common Area Maintenance (CAM) and other NNN recovery charges reconciliation audits.
- Responsible for inputting executed leases, renewals, assignment, escalations, and amendments into YARDI to ensure accurate reporting (Single Family, Apartment and Commercial Leases)
- Oversee account verification for homeowner association escrow title demands
