Hangar Security Agent

JOB OVERVIEW

The Hangar Security Agent is responsible for ensuring the following tasks:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

• All security officers will perform checkpoint screening functions such as: Using the Walk Through or Hand Held Metal Detectors, using X-Ray scanners.
• Must challenge all MDAD Badge holders
• Issue temporary parking permits
• Examine credentials and verify information of those entering through the Catering checkpoint.
• Patrol the exterior and interior of the Hangar Building
• Patrol American Airlines aircraft under maintenance in the technical operations area.
• Must be able to comply with company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
• All security officers must pass the American Airlines MIA Aircraft Maintenance Checkpoint Screener Training
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, LICENSE, and/or CERTIFICATION

• Must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have Security D License issued by the State of Florida
• Must be a U.S. citizen

EXPERIENCE

• Relevant security or airport experience preferred

SKILL and/or ABILITIES

• Ability to speak and understand Spanish / English
• Strong self-organization and self-management skills, with an emphasis on self-initiation and follow-through
• Requires flexibility to work additional hours beyond the regular shift, on short notice, and as needed during irregular operations.
• Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push, and pull for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to obtain a SIDA Badge from the airport
• Must have schedule flexibility for the weekend, holiday, and night shifts
• Must be able to lift up to 40-50 pounds in confined spaces.
• Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push, and pull for extended periods of time.
• Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment

Pay: $20.34 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
