The Vice President of Operations is accountable for ensuring contract services are delivered to clients according to internal standard operating procedures and current industry standards. This position is responsible for managing and supporting operations while driving activities that align with the strategic vision of Eurofins.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accountable for Operations to ensure timelines, revenue and profit plans are met or exceeded- Manage the quarterly and annual budgeting process, to include profit and loss accountability
- Responsible for operational output and key performance indicators
- Identify and develop leaders within the organization, driving a succession planning program
- Foster employee engagement through the following:
- Provide clear operational goals and forecasting, ensuring staff the future outlook of the company will be successful, while building trust in leadership, and demonstrating how they fit into the future
- Recognize effort and success, confirming employees feel valued in their role, while listening to new ideas and driving the message that employees are the most important resource
- Invest in individual success, providing career development path opportunities and ensuring job functions remain challenging, support an appropriate use of the individual’s strengths, and are in-alignment with career goals
- Define and implement operations strategies and processes
- Collaborate with department leaders on quality incident related investigations and/or corrective/preventative measures
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop and maintain a Business Continuity Plan
- Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations
- Engage with existing and potential clients, ensuring confidence in Eurofins is maintained
- Manage team to ensure that service quality is maintained and in line with current SOPs and regulatory needs, as appropriate
- Review and approves operations documents to assure consistency with regulatory standards and requirements. (i.e. SOPs, validation protocols, etc.)
- Develop process improvements to drive efficiency gains while maintaining highest quality levels
- Mentor and develops employees through objectives and performance management
- Manage team to ensure provision of a high level of customer and technical service support for all services
- Facilitate flexibility within team to meet shifting business needs
- Develop new ideas for innovative services offerings
- Contribute to tactical and strategic marketing practices for site services
- Implant and nurtures the corporate values within the department and guarantee commitment to these by all team members
- Provide technical input to business development activities and in support of client relationships, as required
- Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Demonstrate and promotes the company vision
- Lead major initiative projects, as required, and demonstrates a strong understanding of project management skills
- Apply GxP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate and understands and follows all written procedures that apply to the function of the position

- Support additional duties as assigned

Education/Experience (BMQ):
- Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred, or equivalent work experience
- 5 – 10 years of supervisory experience in operations or related field
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Experience in cGMP requirements
- Understand the FDA & DEA regulatory requirements
Understanding of the clinical trials and drug development process
