Job Description
Protein Scientist/Group Leader responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Supports and monitors performance of team of scientists.
• Responsible for new hire interviews, on-boarding process of new employees and performance management and professional development of team.
• Supports cell therapy group by applying a variety of GMP analytical methodologies for antibody products.
• Performs experiments, data processing, and presents results to internal departments and in technical reports.
• Communicates scientific findings, provides status updates on assigned tasks in one-on-one discussions and within the project team and department meetings.
• Contributes to the functions of the laboratory including ordering, organization, chemical and equipment monitoring, and maintenance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess:
• Experience with ELISA, and Western blotting, flow cytometry, LC-MS, MS.
• Experience with cell-based and plate-based potency assays is required.
• Hands-on experience with plate readers, 2D gel imaging, liquid handlers, flow cytometer, fluorescence microscope, analytical ultracentrifuge, Octet and Biacore
• Familiar with a variety of software and information systems such as Empower and LIMS
• Experience with problem-solving and instrument trouble-shooting
• Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to write and review SOPs, technical reports.
• Leadership experience.
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in chemistry, biology, or other related degree concentration
• 3 - 6 years of relevant experience
• Understanding of GMP requirements
