Job Description
We are seeking candidates for the position of ICP Instrumentation Analyst within the Metals Instrumentation team at Eurofins ELS Wellington.
The purpose of the role is to analyse aqueous solutions by ICPOES and ICPMS instrumentation to required quality and turnaround requirements. Types of samples to be analysed include potable water, waste water, SOE, soil, food, final products and biological samples. You will also be involved in preparing calibration standards, quality control samples, performing routine maintenance and trouble shooting. We seek an energetic and motivated professional to join our team. This position would suit someone who has used ICP instrumentation previously or has used a variety of advanced laboratory instrumentation.
Key Position Objectives:
Reporting to the Metals Instrumentation Team Leader the role will focus on but is not limited to:
Analysis of prepared samples by ICPOES and ICPMS
Preparing standards and Quality Control samples for analysis
Processing and reporting data
Performing routine maintenance
Qualifications
As an important role within Eurofins-ELS the following selection criteria are essential for success:
Attention to detail, and proficient computer skills are essential
Has a tertiary degree in science, preferably in Chemistry
Experience working within a commercial laboratory using instrumentation techniques
Experience with working on Agilent ICP an advantage
Must be available to work Tuesday to Saturday
- Desire to continually learn and improve
Must have a valid NZ work visa or be a NZ resident
