Job Description
Position Title: Manager, Project Management
Location: Eurofins Central Laboratory
Reports to: Director, Project Management
Purpose of the Job and Expected Outcome:
Manages a single team of individual project management team members to achieve successful project delivery, mentoring and guiding team to achieve their client study deliverables and other departmental goals. This position will involve extensive mentoring and professional development of staff and focuses on providing superior performance in Central Laboratory project delivery.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage assigned staff and day-to-day activities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations
- Participate in the development and implementation of training programs to enhance organizational knowledge and performance across the scope
- Ensure that staff understand and adhere to Good Clinical Practices
- Foster a unified culture and facilitate collaboration, cooperation, sharing of information and teamwork
- Manage team to ensure all study activities are delivered on time and on spec, overseeing corrective actions as applicable to ensure successful delivery
- Act as project management process owner for applicable areas including but not limited to recruitment, staffing, SOPs, and process improvements, as applicable
- Responsible for budget planning, monitoring and control for employees within scope
- Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient study execution according to clinical protocol and SOPs
- Ensure final approval of sponsor specifications at all study phases, assessing risk against organizational SOPs
- Lead pro-active and timely project communication to promote best in class sponsor satisfaction
- Serve as the first line of customer escalation, making sound judgement calls in a dynamic environment to drive project success
- Maintain complete financial management of studies and team within scope
- Manage study files within scope in accordance with organizational standards, ensuring accuracy and comprehensive detail
- Play an active role in the enhancement of Project Management systems and processes to ensure global development and alignment
- Identify opportunities for service enhancement and development
- Develop tracking tools and processes for benchmarking performance, including response times and task management
- Collaborate with internal teams (Ops, IT, Finance, PM, DM, Set-up, etc) to facilitate the implementation of new systems, study management tools and/or processes, as applicable
- Work closely with internal departments, external vendors and the sponsor to promote departmental initiatives and/or client needs
- Keep abreast of new technical developments and initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase quality of services and operational efficiency
- Support Business develop team as needed and as assigned
- Actively participate or lead external customer meetings to promote company and support existing and future business
- Manage overall client relationship and achieve all budget, revenue, gross bookings and margin targets
Qualifications
Position Specifications and Job Requirements
Experience:
- 5 Year of Clinical research industry experience preferred
- 2 Years Project Management Experience, including line management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of Central Laboratory
- Experience managing cross functional global teams a plus
- Lean process design and implementation experience a plus
Education:
- Bachelors of Science in Life Sciences or related field required
- MBA preferred
