Senior Management Accountant
The Asset Management segment includes our brands and businesses that serve the global asset management industry, BCA Research, Ned Davis Research, and Institutional Investor. This segment provides independent research that enables our clients to make informed investment decisions, runs networks and conferences that bring asset allocators and asset managers together in an effective and efficient way, and provides editorial content and data that are critical for the industry to stay informed and make deals.
The responsibilites of the role include:
- Calculate complex monthly commissions and bonuses against documented incentive schemes.
- Prepare weekly sales reports identifying risks and opportunities with clear and concise commentary to senior management in a timely manner
- Maintain financial controls for the Division
- Identify control risks and work to mitigate
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Support the month end closing process ensuring all general ledger accounts are reconciled with appropriate support including preparation of monthly variance analysis.
- Support the review and analysis of revenue related journal entries and reconciliations with supporting documentation, focusing on identifying and resolving reconciling items.
- Assist in all payroll month-end close related activities, including but not limited to accurate journal entry preparation and review for US and international entities.
- Responsible for monthly bonus, commission, and other employee related accruals.
- Reconcile daily bank statement and credit card activity
- Process intercompany recharges and reconcile account details with the appropriate counterparty.
- Participate in other projects and assignments as required.
- Assist with the monthly consolidation of results using SAP FC
Required skills and experience:
- Part-Qualified Accountant or Qualified Accountant
- Solid experience in a similar role
- Understanding of internal controls requirements
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards
- Possess intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with manipulating large amounts of data
- Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, accountable, and maintains focus with strong attention to detail
- Ability to respond to queries in a timely manner and keep stakeholders informed
- Communicate effectively, concisely, and accurately in emails and in person
- Strives to understand contributing factors, resolves complex situations.
- Adapts to change - open to new ideas and responsibilities
- Exposure to NetSuite and SAP BFC preferred
