What are the responsibilities and job description for the Theater Supervisor position at Events at OWA LLC?
The Theater Supervisor will manage all theater team members in a professional and honest manner and try to improve team members’ performance and job skills while keeping them motivated. Assumes direct supervisory direction in the absence of the Theater Manager and other supervisory duties as directed or required. Oversees all professional artist hospitality, travel and accommodation needs. Keep artist booking files up to date.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the housing, transportation and catering needs for performers for the OWA Theater.
- Responsible for the recruitment, retention, training and scheduling of volunteers and team members to support the transportation and hospitality needs of the artists.
- Assist OWA Theater Manager with implementation of contracts and artist requirements.
- Will be lead for incoming calls and assist all aspects of theater productions.
- Will assist Stage Crew, and contracted personnel during the prep, load-in, setup, run and tear down of events as directed.
- Coordinate with artists and clients to develop, advance and implement event needs.
- Assist and advise OWA Theater Manager in the drafting of operational procedures and processes to increase operational effectiveness, efficiency and safety.
- Assist in the training of part-time staff in theatre operations and safety requirements.
- Maintain appropriate record keeping.
- Preparing paperwork and reports as needed or assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highschool or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred.
- Previous experience in technical theater or professional touring events preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Work requires judgment, leadership and initiative based on knowledge of venue operations and touring productions.
- Duties will often be performed independently and with the authority for carrying out the supervision of theater operations as outlined by OWA Theater Management.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to work in sunny, hot, humid, cold and rainy conditions
