BROAD DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Perform maintenance work, usually in a small plant, to maintain structures, electrical system, small machines, heating systems, plumbing, etc; work requires a basic knowledge of various trade fundamentals sufficient to deal with only general repairs; repair and replace parts on such mechanical equipment as small presses, drills, dryers or equivalent; repair building, construct bins, shop benches, partitions, make crates, repair and replace electrical switches and small motor controls, replace fuses and lighting equipment, put in drop cords, etc; perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on shop equipment and heating equipment; proceed on assignments with minimal supervision and work is subject to final inspection and check. Basic Machine Controls and Troubleshooting.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive job assignments from General Manager.
- Record and turn in to General Manager each day assigned tasks and time spent for each task.
- Perform scheduled PM on shop equipment and Heating and Air Conditioning equipment.
- Inspect forklifts and aerial lifts and fill out inspection sheets on a daily basis.
- Install pallet racking and adjust shelving as needed throughout the plant.
- Install and modify air and vacuum lines in the plant as needed.
- Re-lamp light fixtures throughout building according to re-lamp schedule.
- Maintain detailed repair and maintenance reports for serviced equipment.
- Build shipping crates as required by production departments.
- Hold a valid license to operate forklifts and aerial lifts to perform maintenance tasks.
- Build tables and other items to assist production departments in lean manufacturing.
- Purchase maintenance supplies with the approval of Maintenance Manager.
- Hold a valid drivers’ license to travel to pick up repair parts and supplies.
- Maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Attend classes and seminars to become more proficient and to keep up with advancing technology.
- Basic Machine Controls and Troubleshooting.
- Perform other duties, including production as required and time allows

- Monday - Friday
- 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- Minimum of High School or GED equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
- Possess a strong mechanical aptitude and at least 5 years of related work experience.
OTHER ATTRIBUTES:
- Must have follow through and commitment to quality, workmanship and safety on the job by performing all tasks in a neat and professional manner.
- Must be able to follow directions, work with minimal supervision
