Everest Formulations is a turnkey dietary supplement manufacturing company.
We are seeking a skilled Encapsulation Machine Operators to join our team. The Encapsulation Operator is responsible for working with the production team in various aspects of the manufacturing process, including, blending, weighing, and packaging of raw materials, such as powders, liquids, capsules, amino acids, vitamins, allergens, and botanicals.
Essential Job Duties:
- Hands-on operation of production equipment of blenders, encapsulation machines, and the loading of raw ingredients and capsules.
- Set up and operate equipment, adjust settings during operation and verify equipment settings before starting the process.
- Fill and change ingredients with each batch of finished goods blend before encapsulation.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment – as an example -perform rod / fill tube changes.
- Perform in-process checks until the batch is complete. As an example, verify fill weight and product matches finished good specs.
- Collect and weigh capsule yields into containers using platform bench scales.
- Calculate and record total theoretical capsule yield and actual yield.
- Ensure proper operation of equipment and promptly report any concerns or irregularities to management.
- Clean and sanitize equipment / parts prior to and after each use; disassembling and reassembling as needed.
- Sweep/wash floors and sanitize work areas to maintain equipment and work area.
- Move cases to designated areas within production and warehouse, as needed, using manual and electric pallet jacks.
- Work with the Compliance/Quality Department to perform compliance/quality checks daily.
- Report Out of Specification capsules (OSS) when product is not meeting documented standards to Supervisor / Lead and to the Compliance Manager.
- Comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practices regulations (cGMP) and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while meeting deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Will need to work either 2nd (2:30pm – 11:00pm) or 3rd shift (11:00pm – 6:30am).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus).
- Technology savvy to use computers, tablets, scan guns, ERP systems, such as IQMS.
- Proficient math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and decimals, in all units of measure).
- Effective planning, organizing, problem-solving and collaborative skills.
- Ability and willingness to comply and support Company policies, procedures, work rules, and protocols.
- Adaptable and flexible to workplace changes and new job duties/responsibilities.
- Team Player, excellent follow-through skills.
Selection Guidelines: Education, Experience & Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of encapsulation experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- MG America equipment or other encapsulation experience a plus.
- Experience operating a manual or electric pallet jack (will train onsite).
- Electrical and Mechanical equipment education experience a plus.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
This position requires some exposure to a wide range of temperatures and humid conditions; handling of certain hazardous chemicals; use of PPE as required; standing 100% of the day, ability to reach overhead, grasp, push/pull, climb stairs/ladder and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during course of work shift.
- Required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach, in the performance of this role.
- Required the use of hands, speech, and hearing and use of feet to operate machinery/equipment. Agility to operate machinery and frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Lifting limitations for this position: 25-50 lbs.
- Vision requirements: close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.
- The employee is sometimes exposed to airborne particles.
- Noise level for this work environment is moderate to high (may require the use of earplugs when performing duties in specific production areas).
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement. Lab coat, hair net, beard net (if necessary), mask, wash boots, goggles, and latex gloves in the production area.
