Alaska Gardens in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Staffing Coordinator that is primarily responsible for scheduling nursing staff and other elements of staff support for clinical staff members; while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.

Job Summary:
Alaska Gardens in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Staffing Coordinator that is primarily responsible for scheduling nursing staff and other elements of staff support for clinical staff members; while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.
Essential Functions:
Staffing:
- Develops and posts work schedules at least two weeks in advance.
- Ensures timely Certified Nurse Aide (CNAs) assignment to meet needs of new admissions as well as existing residents.
- Maintains schedule on a daily basis of any staffing changes or resident status changes and communicates accordingly
- Facilitates the timely completion of paper work and data entry pertinent and necessary to fulfill job duties.
- Maintains tracking system for CNA annual license renewal and OBRA compliance.
- Notifies the Director of Nursing (DON) of short staffing situations; contacts replacement personnel and modifies schedule when required.
- Keeps a pool of replacements and coordinates vacations and time-off requests.
- Coordinates time-off requests with the Director of Nursing
- Maintains records of employees who miss shifts; produces reports.
- Coordinates with Director of Nursing to secure contract labor when necessary.
- Communicates with residents and their families/caregivers, and with healthcare professionals and outside vendors.
- Communicates staff assignments to managers and staff.
Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CNA Certification or Licensed Nurse in State employed.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Preferred: A minimum of three months' prior Nursing Assistant experience in long-term care.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
