Recruiter II - $59,000 - $73,800
Sr. Recruiter - $74,900 - $99,800
Note: This is a Hybrid position with a combination of work-from-home and in-office work
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Our talent acquisition team has a clear mission: We recruit the talent that empowers a better future. Our team partners with hiring managers throughout the company for recruiting efforts in all areas of discipline: engineering, accounting, finance, technology services, power plant positions, lineman, customer service representatives, etc. We work closely with our hiring managers to establish recruiting strategies, manage the selection process through full cycle recruiting and lead outreach efforts and programs to ensure that we hire a diverse workforce that is representative of the communities we serve. This person will play a key role developing sourcing techniques and outreach strategies to identify and recruit diverse pools of talent.
Our Focus Areas:
- RECRUITING STRATEGY-We partner with hiring teams to design recruiting strategies & processes to attract and hire talent for Evergy.
- PIPLELINE DEVELOPMENT – We work with community partners and use sourcing techniques to build a bench of talent to meet the future needs of our ever-changing industry
- CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE-We manage the candidate process – from application to offer – with a people first mentality through clear and timely communication.

In this position you will also be responsible for the following recruitment and HR related activities:
- Manage the strategy and execution of the full life cycle recruiting process, from position intake to accepted offer.
- Work with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria and competencies.
- Collaborate with Compensation team to provides consultative direction to hiring managers regarding salary negotiations with final candidates.
- Organize and attend job fairs, campus events and other networking opportunities.
- Ensure an excellent onboarding candidate experience by maintaining clear and consistent communication.
- Track goals and metrics of the recruiting cycle and communicate results.
- Propose and implement ongoing improvements to the recruiting process.
Education and Experience Requirements:
The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of related experience in recruitment, including sourcing candidates, human resources or other outreach and customer focus initiatives. We are ideally looking for an experienced professional to join our team, however entry level candidates may be considered. A strong aptitude for developing relationships to assist in candidate pipeline opportunities is required. Must demonstrate the ability to manage high volume recruitment, competing demands and demonstrate exceptional adaptability and a strong customer focus capability.

- Exceptional communication skills both oral and written are required.
- Strong knowledge of recruiting strategies, candidate networking and cold-calling skills are preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to recruit for a broad range of positions.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with hiring managers.
- Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, processes and procedures.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
- Experience using Taleo preferred
Working Conditions:
Normal office working environment. Must have excellent work record including good attendance. Travel is required and may be extensive during various recruiting peak times throughout the year.
