Corrosion Specialist

Essential Functions:

• Performs field corrosion compliance control work as assigned.
• Reviews technical data and information from maintenance and service activities to ensure that corrosion detection programs remain effective.
• Evaluates information to implement and monitor corrosion detection programs that will assure safety and compliance while optimizing resources.
• Provides guidance and instructions to company employees and/or contract crews performing corrosion surveying.
• Assists in the testing and field evaluation of new equipment/technologies.
• Ensures database is maintained by reviewing corrosion reports and verifying accuracy of corrosion maps.
• May train personnel in various aspects of corrosion inspection functions

• Requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with internal and external customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Requires good analytical skills and ability to interpret technical data with respect to inventory maps.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision.
• Must be detail oriented and able to complete required documentation.
• Must be able to handle multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines and changing priorities and conditions.
• Proficient at repair, maintenance and calibration of corrosion detection instruments

Education:

• Associates degree or equivalent experience is preferred

Experience:

• Requires one (1) plus years of gas utility experience
• Knowledge of corrosion and policies/procedures and applicable federal, state and local regulations is required

Licenses & Certifications:

• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive company vehicles.

Working Conditions:

• This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.

• Work is performed both in an office environment and does require time in the field to conduct audits, training and to resolve complex problems.
• Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
• Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $67,000 and the market rate is $75,100, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
