Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
- Assist with transportation to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities
- Implement individualized care plans and document progress
- Support individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for individuals
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow systems and procedures
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to drive and transport individuals as needed
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols
- Experience in dementia care, nursing home, assisted living, or hospice care is a plus
- Familiarity with working with people with developmental disabilities
- First aid certification is preferred
