Product Development Manager

Responsibilities:

As a Product Development Manager, you will support all development, sourcing activities within the Excello Global Brands product lines. This involves product research, financial planning and analysis, CAD drawing and detailing product function requirements and features to suppliers. Ensure that projects milestones/goals are met and adhering to budget approval. Leader in the development of a Product Development strategy to enter into new product categories and how to expand the line of existing products and categories.

Detailed Responsibilities:

· Proactively manage all SKU-level operations in various selling partner systems by checking for errors and irregularities and performing the proper corrective actions.

· Responsible for creating and running reports to support review and analysis of SKU and assortment performance as requested.

· Communicate new item information/updates/changes through database maintenance, enter product art and copy into advertising databases for easy cross-functional partner access.

· Create various marketing vehicles to propose items and assortments to various retail partners.

o Create sell sheet and retail presentations with costing information.

· Plan promotions together with Sales and leadership, enter them into the promotional database, execute all promotions flawlessly, and provide post-mortem recap of promotional performance.

· Maintain standards of service to the merchandising databases, support ad hoc product information requests.

· Support customer service by assisting to answer more detailed questions or provide support documentation when needed.

· With direction from the Company leadership, conduct market research, gather industry data, track trends, themes, and perform competitive shopping to make recommendations for new products and categories.

· Review competitors store and online experiences for new product ideas, notable presentations, and pricing discrepancies.

· Assist in the development and management of the Asia office Quality Team.

· Communicate feedback on existing products and new products to suppliers based on product reviews, customer calls, and Sr. Management feedback.

· Assist in the hiring and training process for Product Developers, Sr. Product Developers, and Associate Product Development Managers.

· Manage Product Timelines and communicate with Asia office on shipment mode required.

· Determine and validate HTS codes for products

· Work with Product Development/Sourcing Director to locate and qualify new sources for existing and new products using online research tools and contacts.

· Maintain knowledge of return and defective rates and customer comments for existing products and implement design, material, and/or specification changes to deliver product improvements.

· Work with Sr. Management Team to improve and document permanent Product Development, Sourcing, Quality, and Supplier On-Boarding Process.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

· Product Development experience in a CPG environment.

· Proactive attitude to think critically, identify opportunities, and execute solutions.

· Ability to work independently and prioritize and re-prioritize tasks based on fluctuating deadlines.

· Good verbal and written communication skills necessary.

· Organized, self-sufficient personality, ability to multi-task, detail oriented, and work in a multi-functional group and motivate team members.

· Skilled in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint skills a MUST) and Google Docs.

· Financial / Analytical experience.

· Ability to learn fast and think on your feet.

· Ability to travel (Asia, USA).

· Past Supervisory Experience.

Pay: From $91,000.00 per year
