Responsibilities:
We're seeking an Aquatics Manager to join our team. As our new Aquatics Manager you will:
- Work together with Aquatics Manager at our Minneapolis location to develop and implement a cohesive strategic plan/overall vision for the Aquatics departments at each location
- Work with the Assistant General Manager to create an annual budget and maintain revenue targets for the Aquatics department
- Be a leader in ongoing program and evaluation process to determine the relevancy and quality of existing programs and the development of new or improved offerings
- Develop and host special event programming that engages new and existing members of the Community Center
- Develop the promotional and marketing for the Aquatics department
- Maintain a high level of customer service standards that meets the needs of our varied customer base
- Oversee full-time Aquatics Coordinator and all part-time Aquatics staff to create a positive work environment, optimize programming and maintain employee engagement
- Work with the Aquatics Coordinator to recruit, hire and train all Aquatic staff
- Manage pool areas and maintain appropriate staff coverage of pool areas during all operating hours
- Working closely with the Aquatics Coordinator and the Building Facility Managers to ensure quality of the Aquatics Centers and most especially our pool chemistry and air quality
- Regular monitoring of the Aquatics Centers to assure the safety of all users, diagnose potential problems, setting of high standards for cleanliness and appearance and regulate appropriate use of facilities
- Other duties as needed
- Minimum of an AA degree required, Bachelor's preferred
- CPR/AED, First Aid certifications or ability to obtain certifications upon hire
- Lifeguard and Lifeguard Training certifications or ability to obtain certifications upon hire
- 2 years of management experience in hospitality/fitness industry
- 2 years of experience as a Lifeguard or Swim Instructor
- Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday
- Frequent walking and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily
- Ability to be in water for long periods during the day
