General Summary:

Company Representative responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining sales opportunities and business relationships for an assigned group of customers.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Customer Account Plans for assigned accounts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Territory Plan for assigned accounts.
  • Identification of new customer development needs within or surrounding territory.
  • Communicate with current customers, make assigned number of daily outbound calls to potential customers and follow-up on leads.
  • Develop customers to be handed off to Outside Sales Representative.
  • Upsell products and services.
  • Procure needed products/services to fill customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain database of current and potential customers (CRM log).
  • Develop relationships with those responsible for making the buying decision in each customer’s facility.
  • Knowledge and ability to promote the “Exotic Advantage.”
  • Negotiate premium margins as required in the Prepare Quote process (maximizing order profitability).
  • Obtain all applicable information so quotes are as complete as possible and prepare/send Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
  • Follow up on quotation opportunities and report via contact management system.
  • Understand customer pricing system and rebates.
  • Understand core supplier base and prices structures.
  • Assist in contract, customer, and blanket file database management.
  • Submission of corrective action plan for territories under 90%.
  • Obtain technician certifications as required.
  • Identify, document, and validate C.A.R.E. opportunities as defined in the Territory Plan.

Supplemental Job Functions:

  • Identify and develop sales and margin expansion opportunities on an on-going basis.
  • Provide technical support on all essential products and services.
  • Submitting call and expense reports per policy and procedure.
  • Participation and resolution with Accounts Receivable when applicable.
  • Participate in and resolve all overstock inventory when applicable.
  • Follow inventory authorization process for establishing and maintaining customer specific inventory.
  • Execute target account development when applicable.
  • Follow-up all sales leads in a timely and professional fashion.
  • Participate on internal and external training programs as applicable.
  • Document and participate in the resolution of the customer concern process.
  • Provides and supports a positive work environment.
  • Responsible for profitability of company and attaining goals and objectives set forth by the Board of Directors.
  • Participates in corporate on-boarding and orientation programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area of responsibility (will consider equivalent work experience).
  • Three (3) years of experience in an outbound call center sales-related role—automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, or hose and fittings preferred.
  • Proven ability to pioneer/develop new customers, product sales and/or new markets.
  • Advance customer service attributes.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills required to provide full support of company initiatives.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office, CRM Software and video conferencing.
  • Advanced phone skills with cold calling experience.
  • Ability to be available for 24-hour customer support.
  • Organizational skills required to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities and resources in area of responsibility.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with associates, customers, business partners and management team.  Demonstrated teamwork approach with superiors, peers and subordinates utilizing skills in oral communication, active listening, written and oral directions and cooperating with and assisting others when needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal business office environment with regular (up to 100% of work time) exposure to noise, dust, office equipment and supplies. 
  • Physical dexterity needed to bend, stretch, lift and reach.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extensive periods throughout the day.
  • Ability to perform basic office tasks using standard office equipment.
  • Ability to use a keyboard and computer.
