Express is now hiring for a Public Relations & Events Coordinator for a local association in Olympia, WA. This is a long-term evaluation to hire opportunity. The schedule is 7:30AM to 4PM and will total 37.5 hours per week. The compensation for this position will be $60,000/yr.
This person is responsible for managing the professional image, credibility, and visibility of the Associations and assists with the coordination and planning of events and services hosted.
Job Duties:
- Planning, coordinating, and implementing the production of the Association's publications, materials, and communication channels and social media
- Responsible for managing, preparing, and distributing Member communications including, but not limited to a weekly email newsletter, member alerts, meeting notices, and other communications pieces, both in electronic and/or print production.
- Responsible for managing correspondence, comment letters, fact sheets, press releases, and other pertinent informational materials
- Responsible for staying abreast and updated on issues affecting the industry for the purpose of preparing and providing timely, concise, and useful information to Members
- Responsible for coordinating media relations, outreach, and public information activities to promote the visibility and professional image of the Association
- Responsible for developing content and format for meeting event programs and materials
- Responsible for assisting in the content development for the website, and working to ensure that posted content remains current and accurate
- Responsible for providing communication-related staff support to Boards, Councils, and Committees
- Responsible for tracking social media regarding issues of interest and concern, utilizing social media
- Assists with the coordination and planning of events, educational programs and services hosted, which may include management of registrations, sponsorships, exhibitors, hotel and vendor liaison.
- Responsible for performing other duties as assigned by the President/CEO.
- Event travel required. Less than 5% of time. Occasional weekend work is required to support events on site.
Qualifications
Experience
At least 5 years of experience in an office setting required.
At least 1 year of writing experience (Preferred)
At least 1 year of public relations experience (Preferred)
Education
Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
