SUMMARYSHRM’s paid internship program enables students to participate in valuable real-world work experience through a variety of tailored assignments within their areas of interest and fields of study. Students will be tasked with different team specific projects and tasks and participate in professional development projects and events to prepare them for their future careers. The Certification Intern is responsible for supporting the operational needs of the certification department and will help to assist in growing the number of professionals pursuing, obtaining, and retaining SHRM certification. This position works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and/or partners to support the achievement of certification goals, objectives, and targets. This is a paid internship at a starting rate of $25.30/Hour. Responsibilities:Support SHRM recertification activitiesAssist in collecting and organizing certification operation related information regarding problems to be solved or procedures to be improvedAssist in reporting identified issues to management for review and decision makingCompile daily and weekly reporting and data entryAssist with data integrity and maintaining accurate reporting informationSupport SHRM academic initiative activitiesSupport with customer outreach and prospecting needsCarry out department-specific tasks/activities as assigned by the supervisor throughout the duration of the internshipManage deliverables and provide regular updatesEducation & Experience RequirementsField of study: Pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related fields.0-3 years of relevant work experienceExperience in sales and/or business development is a plusKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh levels of analytical problem solving and troubleshootingHigh levels of commitment and initiativeExcellent customer service skillsAbility to successfully work in a team Ability and willingness to follow directionsProfessional demeanor Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgmentProficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and OutlookAdditional NotesPhysical Requirements·       Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.·       Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.Work environmentSHRM does operate under a hybrid work schedule and will require you to be in SHRM’s headquarters in Alexandria, VA on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays will be working remotely.Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.
